Our mission was to create more than just a place to shoot; we wanted to build a genuine resource for the creative community in East London.

For years, we felt like something was missing from the London creative scene. As a director and VFX artist (that’s Jay) and a content creator (that’s Annika), we were always looking for a studio space that felt more like a creative home. A place that was inspiring and functional, but without the insane price tag that usually comes with it.

We wanted good vibes, perfect lighting, and a community feel, but the search always came up short. We just kept thinking, what if we built the space we’ve been looking for ourselves?

In September 2023, that ‘what if’ became very real. We found it. A two-story, 1,800 sq. ft abandoned warehouse in Lower Clapton. It was raw, neglected, and just full of potential. Our goal was simple but massive: to turn this empty shell into a warm and welcoming creative sanctuary for artists and creators of all kinds.

From that moment on, it was all hands on deck. We had no investors, just a vision and a lot of determination. Our lives became a whirlwind of demolition, painting, building walls, and endless trips to the hardware store. We documented the whole messy, wonderful process.

That belief is at the core of everything we do. We are proudly built by creators, for creators. We know what it’s like to need a space that just works, without the stress and hidden costs.Green Place is more than just a studio for hire. It’s the result of our journey and a space we want to share. We hope it becomes a part of your creative story, too.

Welcome to the playground.
